Alicia Machado was born Yoseph Alicia Machado in Maracay Venezuela in the month of December 6th, 1976. Alicia is a multi-ethnic person. Her parents are both of Cuban descendance. She's been an important character in films, television as well as beauty contests throughout her career. Alicia Machado rose to fame when she became Miss Venezuela at age 19 representing Yaracuy. One year later, she became the fourth Venezuelan woman to win the title of Miss Universe 1996. Her time as Miss Universe was marred by the media's negative attention and controversy as she grew weight throughout her time as Miss Universe. Donald Trump who was the Miss Universe Organization's owner in the time of her election publicly attacked her over her weight gain.
